Be as specific as you can about the topic of your question. Provide as much detail and supplementary information as you can. The more you tell us, the better we will be able to assist you. Supply relevant information about the time period, a specific geographic location, or genre. Tell us what you already know about your topic, where you have searched to date (what books you have looked at, collections you have contacted), and how much information you need (for instance, a short answer, a bibliography, or help in locating other sources).
Searching The Richard and Ronay Menschel Library is provided via the University of Rochester Voyager catalog. To search within the George Eastman House Library collection, click on the button below, then select George Eastman House Library from the Location dropdown menu.
Additionally, the following finding aids are available for several of the museums' special collections.
The library will supply individuals with photocopies, although photocopies cannot be made from collection materials designated "rare" or restricted by copyright. Charges for photocopying are outlined below.
The charge is 25¢ per page plus a service charge (see chart below) and postage. Photocopy requests should include a complete citation.
The library will assist anyone with a special interest in photography or film. A reference librarian will answer questions and help you with your research. You can visit the library and work with a librarian, or mail, telephone or fax your request to the library at the numbers listed below. We also answer inquiries by e-mail. Send your question to the librarian using our form.
Requests are handled in the order received. Every effort is made to answer questions promptly, but expect a turnaround time of one month. Charges for photocopying only.
