Passing Time: Video by Andrew Cross
October 11, 2008 - February 8, 2009
A train spotter since childhood, British artist Andrew Cross creates films that slow our everyday view of high-speed train travel to a game of suspense and anticipation. These experimental videos on trains and their mystery focus on the US rail network. Appearing as stationary photographs at first, the eye begins to notice subtle changes and is sometimes abruptly and unexpectedly interrupted when action occurs.
