George Eastman House loans its archival prints on a "first come, first served" basis to qualified non-profit organizations, selected by their compliance with Museum standards. As a member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), George Eastman House adheres to archival film handling and projection policies. The Museum keeps a Registry of Accredited Screening Venues with a list of non-FIAF organizations that comply with archival procedures for film exhibition.
- Individuals, commercial entities and touring exhibitions are not eligible for loans;
- Unpreserved films and prints subject to restrictions to access are not available for loan;
- Unless otherwise specified, video copies of George Eastman House prints are not available for loan, nor are they made for individual use.

Conditions for Archival Loans
In order to be eligible for an archival loan, you must:
- Fill out and send back a Screening Facility Report about your organization (if you are a first-time borrower);
- Represent a non-profit organization (no third party requests are allowed);
- Guarantee that your organization does not project films on platters or large reels;
- Guarantee that prints will be handled and projected by qualified professionals;
- Provide written evidence of copyright clearance, when applicable;
- Submit proof of "wall to wall" insurance of your organization against damage, loss or theft of the print(s);
- Pay an archival fee for each screening, including rehearsals, previews and press screenings (loan fees are available upon request by emailing movingimages@geh.org);
- Take financial charge of shipping and return costs (Federal Express only, unless otherwise agreed);
- If approved for a loan, make your booking request to the Registrar's Office 6 weeks prior to the screening date to allow for sufficient time for the completed paperwork and payment to be received.
George Eastman House will not consider requests that do not comply with the above criteria.

Initial Inquiries and Booking a Print
The archival loan procedure consists of three simple steps, as follows:
- Look at the "Conditions for archival loans" (see above)
- If you demonstrate that your oraganization can comply with the conditions described above and you are eligible for an archival loan, send your inquiry in writing to the Motion Picture Department at George Eastman House or use our Film Loan Request Form and send it:

Your request must include the following:
- the exact title of the film(s), and year(s) of release;
- the exact screening date(s) proposed;
- the gauge of the print (35mm or 16mm);
- Once you receive confirmation that a print is available for the proposed date, send an official request in writing to the Assistant Registrar, George Eastman House, 900 East Avenue, Rochester NY 14607, United States; Fax +1 (585) 271-3970
the Registrar's Office does not accept e-mail requests.
- The borrower will then receive:
- a legal contract, to be signed and returned to the Registrar Office;
- an invoice;
- a request for certificate of insurance;
- a request for proof of copyright clearance.
The print(s) will not be shipped until these items and full payment are received by the Registrar's Office.

Print Return Policy
Unless otherwise agreed, films must be received by the Museum no later than 3 (three) business days after the screening. International loans must be received by the Museum no later than 1 (one) business week after the screening. A charge of $ 100 will be debited to the borrowing organization for each day of delay in receiving the print(s).
