Recent Acquisitions

The Museum continues to grow the collection by acquiring both historical and contemporary material. Recent acquisitions range from a contemporary color portfolio by Robert Weingarten and previously unknown autochromes by Edward Steichen. Each year, students in the Ryerson University MA program in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management curate a themed exhibition drawing on material brought into the collection in the preceding two years. The theme of What We're Collecting Now 2007 is photography and social justice.
