Recent Acquisitions

The Museum continues to grow the collection by acquiring both historical and contemporary material. Recent acquisitions range from a contemporary portfolio of photographers with ties to Boston and previously unknown autochromes by Edward Steichen. Each year, students in the Ryerson University MA program in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management curate a themed exhibition drawing on material brought into the collection in the preceding two years. The theme of What We're Collecting Now 2007 was photography and social justice, of 2008-9, Constructed Landscapes.
