New York City Collectors Club

The New York City-based George Eastman House Collectors Club, under chairman Alan L. Paris, is the museum's first affiliate group located outside of Rochester. The New York City Collectors Club focuses on all aspects of photographic arts, via educational seminars with artists, collectors, dealers, curators, and conservationists. The club meets formally four times annually, with one of the meetings focusing on acquisition choices for the George Eastman House Photography Collection. In addition to quarterly meetings, Club members are invited to studio visits with some of the most renowned photographers of our time.

George Eastman House is this country's oldest museum of photography, as well as the world's largest museum of photography and film. The Photography Collection at George Eastman House includes more than 400,000 photographs and negatives dating from the invention of photography to the present day. The collection - from daguerreotypes to digital - embraces numerous landmark processes, objects of great rarity, and monuments of art history that trace the evolution of the medium as a technology, as a means of scientific and historical documentation, and as one of the most potent and accessible means of personal expression of the modern era.

Annual dues for the New York City-based George Eastman House Collectors Club are $400, with 90 percent of that fee applied to an acquisition fund. Becoming a member of the New York City Collectors Club provides you with a national/international membership to George Eastman House, discounted admission to associate museums, and exclusive offers on photographic reprints, photogravures, and other items.

For more information about the George Eastman House Collectors Club, please contact Alan L. Paris, Chair, at (914) 523-0633 or at aparis@geh.org., or Pamela Reed Sanchez at (585) 271-3361 ext. 384 or via email at prsanchez@geh.org.
