Dryden Theatre presents Raiders of the Lost Ark: The
Adaptation
Shot-for-shot remake to be presented Saturday, Sept. 30;
Indiana Jones trilogy screened in September, in honor of 25th anniversary
of original film
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — In 1982, three 12-year-old friends – Chris
Strompolos, Jayson Lamb, and Eric Zala – began filming a shot-for-shot remake of
Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark in their own Mississippi
backyards. Using friends, family, and pets for the cast, the three young men
devoted their entire adolescence to this amazing labor of love, which now has
captured the attention of Paramount Pictures. The final product is titled
Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation and the Dryden Theatre at George
Eastman House will present a rare screening of the complete epic at 8 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 30, with the filmmakers in attendance. As a prelude to The
Adaptation, and in honor of the 25th anniversary of the release of the
original Raiders, the Dryden Theatre will screen the entire Indiana Jones
trilogy in September with all new 35mm prints on three consecutive Wednesdays,
Sept. 13, Sept. 20, and Sept. 27.

filmmakers' long and intrepid journey into filmmaking is itself being turned
