How many people take care of the gardens and grounds? SHOW

How old is the copper beech tree in the northwest corner of the vista? SHOW

We believe it is approximately 150 years old. Of course, the only way to really determine its age is to count the annual rings inside the trunk.

Will the fountains in the 17th century Trani-stone wellheads be restored? SHOW

Yes, they will be restored but there are no immediate plans to do so.

Do the goldfish survive the winter in the terrace garden's lily pool? SHOW

Yes. The pool contains about a two-foot depth of water that mostly freezes over during the winter. The goldfish nestle into the bottom layer of water where there is enough algae and oxygen to sustain them through their hibernation.

Can the gardens be used for weddings or wedding photos? SHOW

Reservations can be made through the Special Events Manager, (585) 271-3361 ext. 222, beginning on January 1st.
